Join our gallery artist, Alan Butler, for a live-streamed performance piece in partnership with Screen Walks, an online collaborative series created and hosted by The Photographers Gallery, London and Fotomuseum Winterthur, Switzerland. The Screen Walks series seeks to explore the limits of creative online spaces and shine a light on our vibrant, but often overlooked, digital cultural scene. Butler will lead attendees in a tour of the game environment of Grand Theft Auto V, and focus his performance on topics of representation, simulation and the role of the in-game photographer. Spotlight on Aoife Shanahan's Within the Shadows Project

Aoife Shanahan's recent and ongoing artistic project, Within the Shadows, explores themes of isolation and disconnection and examines how physical spaces can mirror psychological states. We think that the series has become particularly poignant as the world continues to experience unprecedented and indefinite social distancing measures, which are undoubtedly impacting the way humans navigate social landscapes. Below are some recent works from the project which Shanahan describes in her own words as a "response to being submerged in a new environment and the work functions as a metaphor for the constant flux of modern living...The lone figure becomes an intriguing character within this space, challenging us to call upon our imagination, fears and fantasies to create new narratives, ones where hope prevails and anxiety fades." Within the Shadows has also received recent recognition from the Irish Arts Review, which featured a six page article spread by Stephanie McBride about Shanahan's recent work.

Damien Flood's RHA Solo Show- Now Postponed Until November

Damien Flood's next solo show at the RHA gallery has been postponed until November 2020  due to COIVD-19 safety measures. We are excited to see Flood's new work and look forward to bringing you more details about the exhibition closer to its re-scheduled opening.

Green on Red Gallery at Art Brussels-Now Postponed Until June 2020

Green on Red Gallery are looking forward to participating in the 38th Art Brussels art fair, which will now be taking place in Brussels, Belgium from June 25th to June 28th. Green On Red Gallery will be the only participating gallery from Ireland.  We are excited to  show new work by Ronan McCrea and Xavier Theunis.  We will premiere a new slide installation work by Ronan McCrea called Waste to Energy/Energy to Waste ( 2020 ) and new photographs.  We will exhibit new paintings by Xavier Theunis ( Bel. ) in his first show in his native Belgium.

Damien Flood Invited to Show at the RHA Annual Exhibition

We are pleased to announce that Damien Flood has been invited by the RHA gallery to exhibit in the RHA Annual Exhibition, which has been rescheduled to September 2020. Damien Flood  is an Irish artist and graduate of NCAD whose work is often grounded in early writings on philosophy, theology, alchemy and the natural sciences and explores the mutability of 'reality' and language. Flood will be showing new work.

Kirstin Arndt's Solo Show at Kunstverein, Mönchengladbach - Postponed & Extended

Kirstin Arndt's solo exhibition, ringen-lassen, originally set to open in the Kunstverein Mönchengladbach in Mönchengladbach, Germany on March 21st, has now been postponed due to COVID-19 safety measures. The show, which is set to feature new work by Arndt, has been extended until May 31st in light of the show's postponement. Like much of Arndt's work, the installations in ringen-lassen respond to the architecture of the space and question the relationships between space, dimension and surfaces. Arndt's media primarily consists of household items and industrial materials, which she then physically manipulates through a number of different techniques in order to inscribed new layers of meaning. Below you will find a preview of some of the works that will be featured in the show. We will be sure to update our supporters on any developments.

Arno Kramer Curates Beyond Drawing Exhibition at the Ballina Arts Centre, Co. Mayo

Gallery artist Arno Kramer recently curated a group exhibition entitled Beyond Drawingat the Ballina Arts Centre in Mayo. The show includes the work of three Dutch artists- Marleen Kappe, Romy Muijrers, Marisa Rappard and three Irish artists- Kiera O’Toole, Mary-Ruth Walsh, Felicity Clear. The exhibition is a celebration of contemporary drawing and investigates the ways in which artists use drawing as a medium to examine themes surrounding memory, identity and consciousness. Unfortunately, the show has had to close in recent weeks due to COVID-19 concerns, but will hopefully reopen to the public soon before embarking on its scheduled tour around the country this July.

Damien Flood Participates in Group Show at Stephane Simoens Contemporary Fine Art

Two of Damien Flood's paintings are currently featured in a group show entitled, Great Small Works, which is still open for viewing at Stephane Simoens Contemporary Fine Art in Belgium. The show features over 80 recent small scale artworks from 30+ artists.
