Warme Nights, Sweete Dews, Fat Grounde, And Misty Mornings

Sometimes you can be on the right track but looking in the wrong direction. Then it hits you…

When I started mulling over “Warm Nights, Sweete Dewes, Fat Grounde, And Misty Mornings” my preoccupations were with Loss in the modern world, loss of time, privacy, identity and sense of reality. Unfortunately, personal loss suffocated these thoughts and “Warm Nights, Sweete Dewes, Fat Grounde, And Misty Mornings” became a different beast.

These are very personal works, still about loss but from a very different perspective. The majority of which are on an intimate scale… Sometimes a softly spoken word has more effect.

The Title comes from the sixteenth-century and refers to the ideal time to harvest saffron.

The works are on canvas instead of my usual aluminium.
