Ronan McCrea

Ronan McCrea is an artist living and working in Dublin working in photography, projected slide installations and sculpture.

Recent projects include School Play, a commission for a primary school in Dublin and New Town Centre Project ((Extract #1) produced with Draiocht Blanchardstown, Dublin. He has exhibited extensively in Ireland and internationally. Recent solo projects include: Medium (Corporate Entities) a project for the Irish Museum of Modern Art 10,000 to 50 exhibition in April – June 2008, Medium at Gallery for One & Goethe-Institut, Dublin, 2007. In 2005 was one of seven artists who represented Ireland at the Venice Biennale.

Other solo exhibitions include Galway Arts Centre (2004), Project Arts Centre Dublin 2003, Glassbox Paris (2002). Group shows include Coalcese: Happenstance, Smart Project Space Amsterdam (curated by Paul O’Neill, Nameless Science, Apexart New York 2008 curated by Henk Slager, Red White Blue, Spencer Brownstone Gallery, New York, 2005; La-La Land, Project, Dublin. 2005 No-one else brings me the colours that you bring, Temple Bar Galleries & Studios, 2004; Permaculture, Project Arts Centre, 2003; Grayscale/CMYK, Tramway, Glasgow, 2002. A Timely Place… London Print Studio Gallery, London 2001.

Curatorial projects include being a guest curator for The Return, visual art space at The Goethe Institute, 2003/04. Co-founder of Multiples (with Paul O’Neill) Co-Curator of Multiples x1 in 1998/99 and being Assistant Curator, The Collection at Irish Museum of Modern Art 1996/98.
