The way things are
Curated by Mark Joyce
- Saturday 05 December 2009
Green On Red Gallery is pleased to announce The way things are, a group exhibition curated by Mark Joyce which includes Fergus Feehily. Fergus Martin and Mark Joyce.
This exhibition brings together a group of ten artists who are concerned with how we approach and transform the materials and forms of the world we inhabit. The show involves painting, video, drawing, assemblage and audio works.
THE WAY THINGS ARE is derived from the Lucretius poem, De Rerum Natura, which urges his Roman contemporaries to look again at the natural world, as it really exists, in all its material, atomic and abstract qualities. This Epicurian materialist view in De Rerum Natura was against the dominant symbolic discourse.
Opening Reception: Saturday 5 December from 3 - 6pm
Venue: SNO Contemporary Art Projects, First Floor, 175 Marrickville Rd. Marrickville, Sydney, Australia 2204
Exhibition Dates: 5 December - 31 January 2010
